Hi everyone,

9 years and 9 months ago, when I was first a student in New York City, I was so bored that I started playing the popular video game Minecraft. The best thing about Minecraft was the multiplayer aspect of it. I found out about a game server that I just kept playing and playing. It was a relief being a nobody in a city that never sleeps.

Then, two things happened in 2012.

The first thing was, out of boredom, I created one of the first Minecraft server communities, called Waffle Minecraft. It reached almost 1000 concurrently online players. I never thought it could happen. I stayed up day and night to take care of the community, and the community took care of me.

The second thing was when I volunteered at UNCUBED New York, I was fascinated with the cloud technology at the time that was called CloudFlare. That was the thing that’s magnificent and out of this world. I knew that it was the future of cloud computing.

A few years passed, I had to come back to Vietnam, my mom passed away in due to a residue of her kidney transplant that happened almost 20 years back.

My dad passed away 2 year after due to another complications. He was a great man. I made a website for him at nguyen.org.

When all that passed, something hit me, it wasn’t my mission to run game servers anymore, but to protect the people around me, that also mean protect the online community that I’m online everyday from malicious intents.

It was never a set off with a big mission, for me it was just fixing tiny details here and there, day by day. Sometime the passion triggers other, I don’t know. I was simply amazed at what I see, and continue to be inspired by the things I see. By doing that, I also heard a lot of great feedback and ideas directly from people like you.

Not sure why I’m writing about my personal life. Maybe I’ll remove that part later and write a more professional thank you. Thank you for sticking with me. I gave a few of you a heads up today, and I understand that you like what I’m doing for you, and I will give you proper time to migrate to other recommended services, even if that costs me.

I don’t know what I will be focusing on yet, but it will surely be interesting. What I’m trying to say is, we will be shutting down the beta version of Lectron. The original version of Lectron will no longer function after August 1, 2021.

Lectron Craft gaming community will be rebranded with the new community owner.

You can continue to use our product before then, just make sure to migrate to our partner prior to August 1. The migration only takes 15 minutes.

If you haven’t checked out the new partnership, we highly recommend taking a few minutes contacting them.

Should you have any questions or need help, please let us know.

We came and thrived in many ways, for a short time, but we also faced challenges. We gave it our all, but regret to announce that it is time to say goodbye. Personally, I have to say goodbye. Lectron will return its seed fund via convertible notes to investors.

If you have any questions, please read the details above and send me the email at [email protected].

Thanks for all your support and feedback over the past months! We’re excited to be entering this next phase of an even more awesome project!
