ARK System Requirements

This documentation provides detailed information on the system requirements for running an ARK: Survival Evolved server. It includes minimum and recommended specifications to ensure optimal performance and smooth gameplay for both the server host and the players.

  1. Operating System Requirements:
    • Windows Server 2012 or later (64-bit)
    • Linux Ubuntu 16.04 or later (64-bit)
  2. Processor (CPU):
    • Minimum: Intel Core i5-2400 or AMD FX-8320
    • Recommended: Intel Core i7-4770K or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X
  3. Memory (RAM):
    • Minimum: 8 GB
    • Recommended: 16 GB
  4. Storage Requirements:
    • Minimum: 60 GB available space
    • Recommended: 120 GB available space (SSD strongly recommended)
  5. Network Requirements:
    • Stable internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 10 Mbps
    • Static IP address or dynamic DNS service for server access
  6. Graphics Processing Unit (GPU):
    • Integrated graphics solutions are not recommended for running ARK: Survival Evolved servers. A dedicated GPU is required.
    • Minimum: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 or AMD Radeon HD 7870
    • Recommended: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56
  7. DirectX:
    • ARK: Survival Evolved requires DirectX 10 or higher.
  8. Network Ports:
    • The following network ports must be open on your server’s firewall to allow incoming and outgoing connections:
      • TCP: 27015 (Game client connect)
      • UDP: 7777 (Game client connect)
      • UDP: 7778 (Raw socket for server)
  9. Additional Considerations:
    • Ensure that your server hardware meets or exceeds the recommended specifications to provide a smooth gaming experience for players.
    • For larger player counts or running multiple servers on the same machine, consider upgrading the CPU, RAM, and storage accordingly.
    • It is recommended to use a solid-state drive (SSD) for improved server performance due to faster read/write speeds.
    • Regularly update your server software and game files to the latest versions to benefit from bug fixes, security patches, and performance improvements.
    • Consider allocating additional bandwidth if you plan to host a high-traffic server with a large number of players.
  10. Server Administration:
    • Familiarize yourself with server administration tools, such as the ARK Server Manager or the ARK Dedicated Server Tool, to manage and configure your server effectively.
    • Monitor server performance regularly, including CPU and memory usage, network traffic, and player latency, to identify and address any performance issues promptly.

Please note that the system requirements mentioned above are subject to change as the game evolves with updates and patches. It is advisable to refer to the official ARK: Survival Evolved documentation and community forums for the latest system requirements and recommendations.

Remember, providing a stable and optimized server environment ensures an enjoyable gaming experience for both you and your players.
